PRESS RELEASE
2008
James Michael Pratt has
officially announced the signing of an agreement with Hallmark Hall
of Fame for a Valentine Day special to be aired as a “CBS Movie of the Week.” Based upon his international bestselling book of 1998, The
Last Valentine, it will air under the same title. February 2009 marks
the ten year anniversary of the paperback publishing by St. Martin’s Press of New
York. When asked if a follow-up is planned, Pratt said: “I couldn’t be
more delighted than to have Hallmark, the definitive name in broadcast quality,
producing The Last Valentine. It seems right that a ten year anniversary
sequel novel should be released. I’ve begun a working title I call Roses Have
Thorns. Hallmark branding is a dream come true. I am keeping my fingers
crossed for a similar success with the sequel -- in fact we are already seeking a
publishing home for it."
Pratt just took the last four
years to develop three inspirational genre novels and two non fiction works; his non-fiction brand of inspiration titles
-- DAD, The
Man Who Lied to Save the Planet and the companion parenting book titled
MOM, The Woman Who Made Oatmeal Stick to My Ribs. Memoirs written with
fun-loving style -- but also devoted expressions for his parents who embodied the virtues of a
fading generation, Pratt takes the reader on a journey to the slower days of the
1950’s and 1960’s where everything seemed black and white, and outcomes from
choices were more easily predictable. In 2004 a smaller but impressive
publishing company in the mountain west asked Jim to write a “moral thriller.” Based upon an idea in outline form, Pratt penned The Good Heart, a
western US regional bestseller focusing upon the effect a transplanted heart with
memories of its donor has on the political strategist to aspiring Presidential
Candidate Senator Joseph Caine. Love, political and medical intrigue, mixed with
deadly intentions combine to show how one good heart can make all the difference
in a string of lives who each think they are in control. Pratt's parenting
books, DAD... and MOM... along with The Good Heart are
available now through order at bookstores nationwide and at
www.amazon.com as well as other online booksellers.
In addition to Pratt’s recent
Hallmark Hall of Fame film success, the World War Two bestseller Ticket Home,
and political thriller, The Good Heart, have both been “optioned” for film development by a
Los Angeles based production company. Scripts are in production.
LATEST

"unofficial" announcement for the formation of a new company devoted to

"... a 21st
century paradigm for self-improvement." More information will soon be made

principles of "Power Thinking," was in production for over one year. AS a MAN THINKETH...In
His Heart is soon to be released in

sales. PowerThink Publishing, LLC, owned by Pratt and partners, will also print

THE CHRIST REPORT,
written some four years ago, and only now revised and being made available to
the public in trade paperback form for Spring 2008 sales, is an entertaining
look at how an innkeeper from the past, and a radio talk show host from the
present, collide through cosmic circumstance to benefit each other in the
retelling of the Holy Birth, and events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus of
Nazareth.
